A Look at Facebook

Well, since the beginning of the year, I have been on Facebook. You may have noticed the little picture and logo on the left side. And honestly, I don’t know that I understand it. Okay, it has been nice to connect with a few old friends. But that is about the extent of the fun of facebook for me. All of the games on facebook are dumb at best. And there doesn’t seem to be any really useful. So far most of the “spam” that I have gotten through facebook is from people who want me to rate them and

Twitterpated

Again I find myself using a title that isn’t completely accurate.  Some one is going to take me down for violating truth in advertising laws.  The title just seemed witty and I couldn’t not use it. I recently decided to give in a get a Twitter account.  I had heard about it before, but I really didn’t see much value in the application.  So, I just let it be. However, recently some cohorts expressed a desire to communicate with me using twitter.  After a couple of days of thinking about it, I decided that it couldn’t hurt. Here is where

Mayor Billings Gets it Right, Finally

Too bad he didn’t get it right the first time.  But at least now he is owning up to the mistake, sort of. iProvo should never have been invested it, but the city of Provo.  The same goes for all other Utopia cities. Just as I stated in the previous post, cities should not get involved where private enterprise is doing well.   It will always lead to a failure.  And often, the failure leads to a bigger tax burden on the citizens. Fortunately, Mayor Billing is doing the right thing, and bailing out of iProvo.  It takes a big man

Listen to Gazelem Talk Politics

It’s been a long spell without any comments on politics from yours truly.  And I am going to make this a special treat.  You get to listen to me talk politics. You may have heard about KLO Radio’s recent contest where they invited listeners to submit a 30 minute talk show.  The talk show needed to have at leat one interview. My first thought was how fun would that be, but I really wasn’t going to pursue it.  However,  PandaMae (my 12-year-old daughter) said that she thought it would be cool.  So, I figured, what the heck.  I will give

Virtual Tours of LDS Temples

Wow!  So yesturday I was just clicking around Google, and I found this program of called SketchUp, which is used to make 3D images.  Google offers it for free (and they have pay version) in the hopes that people will make images of their favorite places.  I think that Google hopes to offer a 3D image of the world through Google Earth. Because I was bored, I figured that I would try to learn SketchUp by making a mock-up of the Salt Lake Temple.  I have a fairly nice model  started, and I am having fun learning it.  But in

Fabulous Farding Friday: Thanks Leonore

Wow, after a week of nothing, we have such exciting news. You have already noticed it even. We have a banner for this site. Isn’t it exciting. I wouldn’t have ever thought that I would have such a wonderful banner. But after some buttering up, a kind offer, and a few revisions, we have a banner for Gazelem. First of all, I must thank Leonore at Silverwoods for putting this together. They recently put up a wonderful new banner for thier site, and I complimented her on the wonderful job. Then I jokingly said I would have her do one
